Ages ago, a great war consumed the land. Vast amounts of mana were drained in this war, held in the holy land of Karhlan. A boy named Mithos and his companions were able to put an end to this war, but only by sacrificing Mithos himself. The goddess Martel, saddened at the loss of her companion, fell into despair, and later fell into a deep sleep. If she is not awakened in time, the land will wither and die. This is when the ritual of the Regeneration of the World took place. Only one Chosen of Mana may enter the Tower of Salvation and awaken the goddess by becoming an angel herself.

And thus begins our tale of betrayal and strife -- with the seventh Chosen of Mana, Colette Brunel. It all begins in a small town of Iselia, in the world of Sylvarant. There she will join a journey with her friends Lloyd and Genis, along with her teacher Raine, and a traveling mercenary by the name of Kratos. Together, they will meet many people, encounter countless hardships, and travel to distant lands never thought imaginable.
